Tim Kasher is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer best known for his emotionally raw lyricism and distinctive voice within the indie and post-hardcore scenes. Emerging from Omaha in the late ’90s, Kasher first gained recognition as the frontman of Cursive, a group celebrated for its intense, concept-driven records and theatrical approach to indie rock. Around the same time, he also co-founded The Good Life, a more introspective project that explored themes of heartbreak, self-destruction, and personal reflection with a softer, more melodic touch.

Kasher’s songwriting is often marked by confessional storytelling, dark humor, and an unflinching look at relationships, addiction, and existential anxiety. Albums like Domestica and The Ugly Organ with Cursive, along with Album of the Year by The Good Life, have become cult favorites for their narrative depth and emotional intensity.

In addition to his band work, Kasher has released several solo albums, further showcasing his stripped-down, narrative-driven style. His solo material leans into folk and indie rock traditions while maintaining the same candid, sometimes confrontational honesty that defines his broader catalog.

Over the years, Tim Kasher has remained a vital and influential voice in independent music—respected for his willingness to evolve artistically while staying rooted in deeply personal, often cathartic songwriting.
